An enterprise can have a huge number of applications, and your smart desktop needs to keep track of them. Specifically, it needs to know the name, the type of the app, how to launch it, and lots of other info. This info is useful both for the smart desktop users and for the container and desktop agent.

Apps are at the heart of your smart desktop, so you need to be able to add one. It doesn’t matter what kind of an app it is, whether web or native. You add apps of all types the same way, by adding a config entry to your appD. The details of course will be different for each.
