The Smart Desktop Designer (SDD) helps you implement an integrated fully functioning desktop with little or no development work. You can make changes and customize it as needed. When you're happy with your design, you can publish it and deploy it to your end users.
Finsemble makes it easy to build and deploy smart desktops for teams of end-users. In a few steps, you can:
To begin building your smart desktop, you need to start a desktop project. Finsemble supports one desktop project at a time. You can update your project whenever you like. After you make the changes that your organization needs, you can publish or export the project.
The desktop you design with SDD can be very powerful, but to get the full power of Finsemble you need some development skills, your own or someone else's. You can still use SDD to start the process. Take your design as far as you can, and use it as a starting point for a more complex desktop. You can then create a .zip file, package it, and then pass it to a team of developers, who will take it further.
We currently don't support parallel design of multiple smart desktops.
When Finsemble launches, it docks the Finsemble Toolbar to the top of your screen. In the toolbar you can see some menus. One of them is an app launcher menu called Apps. To launch SDD, click the down arrow for this menu and pick Smart Desktop Designer from the dropdown. You are now ready to start building your desktop project.
The welcome screen is a landing page of the designer. You can access most of the functionality from here. Specifically, you can use the left pane to:
