Manage a project
On this tab you manage a single project that is already active. If the project you want to manage isn't active, you need to switch to it. Double click it on the Projects screen of your SDD. Finsemble will now ask you if you want to switch to that project. Click Yes. Keep in mind that this causes Finsemble to restart.
Now that you switched to the project you want to manage, click its tile on the list of projects to open the Manage project tab. The project already has a name and location, but you can change them here if you want. Other actions you can take here include resetting the project, cloning it, and saving your changes.
If you reset the project, all the configurations and customizations you've made to it will now go away. The project goes back to the state it was in at the moment when you created it. If you added apps or customized a theme, these changes will not survive the reset.
Sharing your project
You can save a project to your local computer, but if you want to share it with others, you need to make it accessible to them. Finsemble supports 2 ways of sharing: publishing to the Cosaic cloud and creating a zip file.
Publish to the Cosaic cloud
You can publish your project to our cloud by clicking Publish. Because we use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for our cloud storage, this is a convenient secure choice, particularly if you want to continue your development. You can keep resaving your changes as you go. Users can access the published project, and will see your changes when they restart their desktop.
From the security perspective, the most important thing to keep in mind is that none of your apps or data are stored in the Cosaic cloud. Only the smart desktop configuration is stored there. So, your data and your apps are as safe as they have been before.
Create a deployment zip
If you prefer to keep your project in your own infrastructure, you can host it yourself. To do so, click Create zip. Finsemble then collects all the necessary files into a zip that you can pass to your IT department. The zip also contains the README.md file that provides you with deployment instructions.
